Surfacing
Playground surfacing protect's children from
falls from playground structures.
Over time these surfaces can deteriorate
through environmental factors and wear and tear.
Periodically these surfaces should be assessed
to determine if they still meet the critical fall height, for the
equipment.
Surface Impact Testing imitates a fall from the
highest structure that a child may fall from and assesses the risk
for injury.
Equipment
Future Landscapes conducts
playground surface impact testing using the
Triax 2000.
The Triax
2000 is a approved, playground
free-fall surface impact tester. The Triax 2000 measures Impact Velocity and Head Impact
Criteria.
Testing your playground surface and taking
action on recommendations ensures that your facility adheres to the
New Zealand Standard NZS5828:2004 Playground and Equipment
Surfacing Standards.
